After weeks of exciting tournaments and cash game promotions, the time had finally come. The celebrations for the anniversary 25 years Concord Card Casinos and 25 years of poker in Austria reached their absolute peak with the big birthday party in the CCC Simmering.
For the final celebration, the CCC Wien Simmering virtually burst at the seams due to the rush of guests. Regular customers, guests and celebrities had streamed into the headquarters CCC Wien Simmering and were waiting for the things to come. They all experienced an inspiring and touching evening.
Top-class poker fireworks
The kick-off 25 days ago was already promising. The Birthday Warm-Up offered a guaranteed prize pool of € 25,000 and recorded more than 1,500 entries. In the end, € 28,709 were in the prize pool. Marko Tasic won the tournament and was pleased with the prize money of € 2,548.
The Birthday Open then went up a gear and presented a guaranteed amount of € 100,000. The many players provided a prize pool of € 125,814, the winner cashed € 20,660 for his success.
The tournament weeks reached their first major highlight with the Birthday Main Event. A prize pool of € 250,000 and exciting days on the poker floor ended with a victory for Roman Dopplinger.
At the Birthday Highroller, significantly more than the guaranteed € 50,000 ended up in the prize pool. Bon Koo celebrated a start-finish victory and was happy about his win of € 25,090.
Bounty on Bosses reunited all the major bosses of the last 25 years at the poker tables. Peter Zanoni and friends personally faced the bounty hunters and proved their skills at the poker table.
Celebrity rush at the “Poker mit Herz”-Charity table
One of the numerous highlights of the birthday party on 7 October was certainly the Celebrity Poker Charity table. Many prominent personalities from society and culture gladly made themselves available for the good cause and competed at poker.
Among them were entrepreneur Kathi Stumpf, Flying Pickets singer Gary Howard, model Cyril Radlher, 'Dancer Against Cancer' organiser Yvonne Rueff, fashion designer La Hong, former singer of Hot Chocolate Greg Bannis and SaxoLady Daniella Krammer. It was a personal concern for all of them to raise money.
Twelve celebrities started the tournament, which Alexander List won in the end. Great prizes could be won, including a wellness weekend at the thermal spring hotel Kurz in Lutzmannsburg.
Numerous guests and customers opened their hearts and wallets and donated diligently for the good cause. With their help and thanks to the support of many benefactors and sponsors, Poker mit Herz was able to raise a total of € 16,118 in donations and finance the purchase of a stair lift for Amelie.
All donations are given directly to the Poker mit Herz club and no administrative costs are deducted. The appropriation of donation funds is completely transparent and can be reviewed online at any time on the Poker mit Herz website.
Proud of the achievements, and look at the future with joy
The balance sheet of 25 days of poker is truly impressive. Well over € 500,000 were played out in tournaments and promotions or awarded and provided for many lucky winners.
In his speech, Peter Zanoni referred to the tenacity and persuasive power needed to build this company and make it a success. With diligence and commitment, it was possible to create a Europe-wide flagship company, which is known and recognised in the industry worldwide.
He used the anniversary as an opportunity to honour 30 long-standing employees for their services to the Concord Group and to personally thank them for their dedication and performances. Citation from Peter Zanoni: 'These are the pillars of the company, they have made a lot of progress. You cannot do anything on your own.'
The employees returned the favour with a personal gift. Taubenkobel celebrity chef Alain Weissgerber will cook at Peter Zanonis home for him and his family. For this, Aneta Lantzberg and Jonathan Luetkenhorst presented their boss with a bottle of French champagne from the year of foundation in 1993.
Peter Zanoni was touched and promised: 'I will give everything not to disappoint you, my dear guests and employees, in the future.'
A glittering birthday night
Ö3 presenter and song contest presenter Andi Knoll skilfully led the evening and presented in an interview with the founder of the Concord Card Casinos amazing facts about the history of the CCC. The opening of the first poker casino in Wien Simmering took place on the same day as the birth of Peter Zanoni's first daughter Chantal. For the CCC boss, this 7 October 1993 therefore means 25 years of luck.
Caroline Frank & Wolfgang Fifi Pissecker showed excerpts from their current programme 'Endlich' in the show programme and provided cheerfulness. Magician Philipp Kainz amazed the guests with card tricks.
The Cooks, famed for their creative culinary creations, congratulated with a gorgeous birthday cake and selected delicacies at the buffet. The numerous guests and friends of the house did not want to miss these culinary highlights and helped themselves heartily.
Superb fireworks crowned the glittering birthday party, with which CCC founder and CEO Peter Zanoni thanked all guests for the loyalty in the last 25 years. The guests, who gathered in front of the casino in a large number, were thrilled, applauded and congratulated the CCC team. Hot Chocolate Greg Bannis spontaneously gave a concert in the middle of the casino and let emotions run high again at the end of the birthday celebration.
The big birthday raffle and numerous cash game promotions brought the winners many gifts and proved once again that poker is at home at the CCC.
Onwards to the next 25 years
The motto of the evening was presented by moderator Andi Knoll. The Concord Group has proven over the past 25 years that it is one of the most successful and respected organisers of major poker events. Milestones, such as the European Poker Tour 2014 at the Hofburg in Vienna, have made the company one of the most well-known poker brands in Europe. Peter Zanoni and his team are looking forward to many more exciting years in the poker casinos of the Concord Card Casino Group.
The next big birthday party of the Concord Group is already just around the corner. The Montesino will celebrate its tenth birthday at the end of October.
