The original, elegant style of OCEANUS is moving to a new era of innovation. An elegantly slim case that only has 9.5 mm thickness is the result of one-sided mounting with high-density technology and reducing the module components. Furthermore, the advanced time-correction system acquires accurate time around the world. Simple operations for various functions are also possible using the smartphone link apps.
The OCW-S5000 is the achievement of 15 years of OCEANUS evolution in pursuit of elegance and technology.

Only 9.5 mm thick —an innovative,
slim style is the result of advanced technologies

New mounting technologies and improvements in parts and structures reduce module thickness by 1.41 mm compared to the previous model. Innovative high-density packaging technology has enabled installation of Bluetooth^®communication and Multi Band 6 radio-controlled technologies in a less-than-10 mm slim case. The original, elegant style of OCEANUS is moving to a new era of innovation.

- One-sided mounting with high-density technology

Electronic components that were previously located on both sides of the circuit board have now been concentrated on a single side. Further power savings and size reductions from the Bluetooth^®system help the final form.

- Reduction in thickness of the module parts

Main plate, date disc, gears, and crown have all been redesigned. The module parts have been reduced intentionally in size on the order of 0.01 mm units.

- New structure for combining the case and bezel

Joining of centre case and bezel has been changed from using a metal latch to a laser weld. This further reduces the thickness by approximately 0.5 mm.

OCEANUS Blue

This special blue sputtering technique and black IP treatment give a beautiful colour to the dial-ring and insert dial-rings, enhancing the elegant face design. The original blue colouring and titanium silver are well-matched in this innovative watch.

Sophisticated silhouette

The OCW-S5000 presents a silhouette that follows in a continuous form from the case to the band, achieving a compact and sophisticated design that improves wearability.

Functional beauty of the band

This titanium band features three-piece central links in the band support that form a mirror-finished line and arrow-like H-links. By having the band attach directly to the case, the extended range improves wearability. Additionally, a sliding adjustment clasp makes it easy to change the length without tools.

Parts of the case and band are carefully hand-polished by artisans.

Dual-curved sapphire crystal with non-reflective coating

A non-reflective coating applied to both the inner and outer sapphire crystal surfaces ensures clear visibility with 99% transparency.

24-facet sapphire dial ring (OCW-S5000S)

The 24-facet sapphire ring is applied to the dial. Gradations on the reverse side due to vaporisation reflect a beautiful shine.

Black vaporisation dial (OCW-S5000S)

New vaporisation technique has been directly applied on the surface of the dial. It achieves an even more beautiful colour and high-quality feel compared to previous vaporisation techniques on the back side of the dial.

Blue-AIP_®(arc ion plating) case and band (OCW-S5000S)

The titanium case and band are treated with surface processing that grants it a hardness exceeding that of DLC, strengthening its resistance to abrasions. The bluish-gray colour was newly developed under the concept of “cool ocean”.
